E-hui (/i hweɪ/, "ē hwāy") is a freelance lighting designer and electrician, based in the DC area since 2015. She received her BFA in Theatrical Production Arts from Ithaca College, NY, and was a recipient of the Singapore National Arts Council Arts Scholarship (Undergraduate) in 2013. During her study abroad semester in London, E-hui interned with renowned dance company, Akram Khan Company, and the Finborough Theatre. She has also been part of several festivals including Source Festival (2016, 2017), Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival, Ithaca Fringe (2014, 2015), American Realness 2014 in NYC, and Singapore Arts Festival 2011.
The performing arts have always held a special place in her heart, but it was not till after high school that E-hui decided that production was her passion and the right career path for her. She loves the fresh challenges that every new project brings, and also to be able to bring an artistic vision to life and to forge connections with the community. Theatre and performance should not only entertain, but also foster a deeper connection with the audience and challenge people to think and reflect.
E-hui would like to thank her family, her American family, Drew and the theatre community for their continuous support.
